Why Convert Nike Bauer Ignite 44 Boots?
The Nike Bauer Ignite 44 is one of those boots that ticks all the boxes for a great quad skate conversion. They're lightweight, comfortable and have the right amount of flex for quad skating.
What makes them particularly special is that they share much of the same construction and feel as the highly sought-after Nike Flexlite 2. That means you get the same comfortable fit and responsive feel that made the Flexlite range so popular amongst skaters.
The big difference is rarity. You simply don't see many Ignite 44 boots around anymore, making them a fantastic choice if you want something a little different from the usual Bauer conversions.
Why Use Sure-Grip Avenger Aluminium Plates?
The Sure-Grip Avenger Aluminium is a favourite amongst skaters who enjoy a responsive and agile setup. Its 45-degree truck geometry allows for deeper edges and quicker turning than a traditional 10-degree plate.
The aluminium construction keeps weight down while providing excellent strength and durability. Combined with the flexible nature of the Ignite 44 boots, the result is a setup that feels lively, manoeuvrable and fun to skate.
For experienced rhythm, dance and jam skaters, the Avenger offers a level of responsiveness that is difficult to match.
The Conversion Process
As with all Pabloskates conversions, the original ice blades were carefully removed before the boots were prepared for plate mounting.
The Sure-Grip Avenger Aluminium plates were then accurately positioned and securely mounted to ensure proper balance, stability and performance. Every conversion is individually aligned and built by hand rather than relying on factory mounting positions.
The end result is a professional-quality custom quad skate built to provide years of reliable skating.
How Do They Skate?
This setup feels fast, agile and incredibly responsive.
The flexible Ignite 44 boots allow plenty of ankle movement, making them ideal for rhythm skating, dance moves and general recreational skating. Pairing them with the 45-degree Avenger plates creates a skate that responds quickly to weight shifts and edging movements.
Skaters moving from traditional artistic or recreational setups often notice how effortlessly the Avenger-equipped boots carve and turn.
Who Is This Setup Best For?
This setup is ideal for:
Rhythm skaters
Jam skaters
Dance skaters
Experienced recreational skaters
Anyone wanting a unique vintage Nike Bauer build
While beginners can certainly skate on Avenger plates, they are generally best suited to skaters who already have some confidence and want a more responsive setup.
Nike Bauer Ignite 44 Availability
The Nike Bauer Ignite 44 is now a very difficult boot to find. Unlike more common Bauer models, these rarely appear on the second-hand market and often sell quickly when they do.
If you're lucky enough to find a pair in your size, they make an excellent candidate for a custom quad skate conversion.
